Vision

History

Amstel Golf Club was formed in 1936 when a lease was obtained for 119 acres in East Oakleigh for the Construction of a Golf Course. The property was a portion of a large Estate owned by a Mr. Van Amstel, hence the origin of the Club’s name.

In 1965, the Club relocated to Cranburne and commenced construction of the Park Course, before adding the Ranfurlie Course in 2002.

Throughout its history, Amstel has always been recognised for the friendly and hospitable character of its Members, the egalitarian nature of The Club, and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.

It is that willingness to accept change that Amstel relies upon to respond to challenges as the external landscape facing the Club continues to throw up new opportunities and threats.

Amstel through its location, spirit and flexibility is able to draw on its historical approach and ability to embrace change to best place itself to nimbly overcome challenges and set itself on a bright path for the future.
